Laser cutting involves directing a focused, high-power-density laser beam at a workpiece, causing the material to rapidly melt, vaporize, ablate, or ignite. Simultaneously, a high-speed gas flow coaxial with the beam blows away the molten material, thereby cutting through the workpiece.
激光切割是利用经聚焦的高功率密度激光束照射工件,使被照射的材料迅速熔化、汽化、烧蚀或达到燃点,同时借助与光束同轴的高速气流吹除熔融物质,从而实现将工件割开。

Advantages of Laser Cutting:
⑴ High-Quality Cuts
Due to the laser’s small spot size, high energy density, and fast cutting speed, laser cutting delivers superior cut quality.
⑵ High Cutting Efficiency
Because of the laser’s transmission characteristics, laser cutting machines are typically equipped with multiple CNC workstations, allowing the entire cutting process to be fully CNC-controlled. During operation, simply modifying the CNC program allows for the cutting of parts of various shapes, enabling both 2D and 3D cutting.
⑶ High cutting speed
When cutting 2mm-thick low-carbon steel plate with a 1200W laser, the cutting speed can reach 600 cm/min; when cutting 5mm-thick polypropylene resin sheet, the cutting speed can reach 1200 cm/min. Materials do not require clamping or fixing during laser cutting, which saves on tooling and fixtures while reducing auxiliary time for loading and unloading.
⑷ Non-contact cutting
During laser cutting, the cutting head does not come into contact with the workpiece, eliminating tool wear. Processing parts of different shapes does not require changing “cutting tools”; only the laser’s output parameters need to be adjusted. The laser cutting process is low-noise, low-vibration, and pollution-free.
