Cold-formed angle steel is manufactured by cold-bending steel plates or steel strips. It is a long, rectangular steel section with two sides perpendicular to each other. Not only can its wall thickness be made very thin, but the production process is also greatly simplified, thereby improving production efficiency.

Cold-formed angle steel is classified into equal-leg and unequal-leg types. In equal-leg cold-formed angle steel, both sides have the same width. Its specifications are expressed in millimeters as side width × side width × side thickness. For example, “∠30×30×3” denotes an equilateral cold-formed angle steel with a side width of 30 mm and a wall thickness of 3 mm. They may also be designated by a model number, which represents the side width in centimeters, such as ∠3#. However, the model number does not specify different wall thicknesses within the same model; therefore, when drafting contracts or other documents, it is essential to specify both the side width and wall thickness of the cold-formed angle steel to avoid ambiguity when using the model number alone.

冷弯角钢是采用钢板或钢带冷弯成型制成的钢。是两边互相垂直成角形的长条钢材。它的壁厚不仅可以制得很薄，而且大大简化了生产工艺，提高生产效率。

冷弯角钢，有等边角钢和不等边角钢之分。等边冷弯角钢的两个边宽相等。其规格以边宽×边宽×边厚的毫米数表示。如“∠30×30×3”，即表示边宽为30毫米、边厚为3毫米的等边冷弯角钢。也可用型号表示，型号是边宽的厘米数，如∠3#。型号不表示同一型号中不同边厚的尺寸，因而在合同等单据上将冷弯角钢的边宽、边厚尺寸填写齐全，避免单独用型号表示。
